The holiday season can be a challenging time without family or friends to celebrate with.
Asylum Pride House introduces Rainbow Ribbons, our gift drive to spread love through the Holidays!
Rainbow Ribbons Holiday Gift Drive
Each year, Asylum Pride House reaches out to local community groups, faith organizations, and compassionate individuals to join in the holiday cheer with our gift drive to help welcome LGBTQIA+ immigrants in Philly.
Registration for gift givers opens mid November and gifts are distributed to our community of LGBTQIA+ asylum seeking individuals in mid December.
This 2024, we have opened up our giving to include not just our clients, but to any LGBTQIA+ immigrants currently receiving services from local Philadelphia based nonprofits. If your organization has clients who are eligible and want to receive some holiday cheer this year, please reach out via our email to speak with our team!
Holiday Card
Many LGBTQIA+ asylum seekers do not have family or friends who are affirming of their gender identity and/or sexuality.
We hope you write from your heart and share why you are part of our welcoming community. Cards are even better when they are written in the language of our clients!
$50 Walmart Card
Our clients often do not have their work permits or stable income.
A gift card allows our clients to purchase specialty food items or gives them the ability to shop for more personal items they may not feel comfortable asking for otherwise.
Wrapped Gifts
Giving gifts, particularly around the holidays, is a cross cultural sign of care and love.
We want LGBTQIA+ immigrants to know someone thought about them and what they enjoy or need in their day to day life. It is a special opportunity to share in the welcoming that Asylum Pride House provides every day.
Becoming A Gift Giver
Our Rainbow Ribbons Gift Drive provides every LGBTQIA+ asylum seeker with ALL three items - a holiday card, a $50 shopping card to Walmart, and well chosen gifts based on the information provided about a particular individual.
All information provided about your assigned person will be anonymous, but will describe who they are and what they enjoy! We will include:
Spoken language
Gender identity (if specified)

Items they might need
